It is the oldest in Bogotá, it was built in 1910 when the municipal and national governments ordered the construction of a place that would remember the first centenary of emancipation (July 20, 1810)
It was recently restored by the Corp. La Candelaria and the Bogotá Museum, and reopened to the public in April 2006. For twenty years, La Independencia was the favorite place of the capital's inhabitants.
