Calificación promedio de usuarios
The Gold Museum of the Banco de la República in Bogotá was completely renovated in November 2008. Today it is an expanded building with magnificent architecture that exhibits nearly 33,000 objects - more than double the number of the old Museum - made of gold and other materials. It has four permanent exhibition rooms, a temporary exhibition room, an exploratory room and comfortable services for visitors: study room, lockers, restaurant, cafe and shop.
The tour narrates the history of gold and other metals among the pre-Hispanic societies of the current Colombian territory, as follows:
o The work of metals : mining and manufacturing techniques of ancient metallurgy.
o People and gold in pre-Hispanic Colombia : use and context of metals within political and religious organization.
o Cosmology and symbolism : mythical themes, shamanism and symbology of metals.
o The offering : immerses the visitor in the world of offering ceremonies.
o The Exploratory: promotes interactivity and reflection around the heritage preserved by the Museum.
